IELTS Writing Part 2 Student Essays

Welcome to the next installment in our IELTS Writing Part 2 series. Today we have two essays from one of our newest IELTS students Michael. He has very quickly taken on the norms associated with structuring an academic essay which ensures that he has a good task response score, as well as a good coherency score. Whilst there are grammatical issues in terms of prepositions and sentence structure, it is clear from his introduction what Michael's position is and his use of short, concise topic sentences mean that each paragraph is very easily understandable and complimentary to the argument he's putting forward. It is vital that you work on your IELTS essay structuring and adopting the techniques and writing style to make your essay as elegant as possible. Grammar is of course very important, but is only 1 of categories which make up the way your IELTS essay is scored.

Although it offers a number of advantages in make your life more exciting and interesting, it also has disadvantages. In this essay I intend to show how these benefits outweigh that disadvantage.

Perhaps the major advantage of moving abroad is to change your job or learn something new. Typically, there is a good opportunity to find more interesting job in other countries and focus on those goals that you always wanted to achieve but never had time for. For example, if you move to English-speaking country then this may be a good time to improve your English skills. Other significant advantages are your children will be exposed to different cultures and they will become citizens of the world.

There are, of course, negative aspects to moving abroad. The greatest of these is that you will be away from your friends and relatives but modern communication technologies, such as the Internet and mobile phones, can help you to stay in touch.
